Flexible workspace provider signs up for flagship city development

Developer and asset manager, MEPC, has confirmed its latest occupier to join the Wellington Place community – Cubo – a co-working space concept.

Due to open its doors in February 2022, Cubo provides flexible opportunities for prospective occupiers, including smaller businesses and shorter lease terms.

Having opened its first site in February 2020 in Derby, just before the start of the pandemic, Leeds will become Cubo’s fourth site, taking 19,821 sq ft on the third floor of 6 Wellington Place.

The office opening forms part of the business’ drive for further expansion plans in the coming months.

Paul Pavia, commercial director at MEPC, said: “The quality of the Cubo brand and their people focused ethos marries up incredibly well with the existing proposition of Wellington Place and we’re delighted to have them joining the community.

“They recognise the changing needs of employers and workers and promote an experience-led lifestyle offering, alongside the traditional requirements of functionality.

“Cubo is a perfect fit and will provide even more choice and flexibility to the Wellington Place offering.”

Marc Brough, founder and managing director at Cubo, added: “Leeds is a top five UK city on pretty much all measures, so it has long been on our radar for expansion.

“Its diverse economy, leading universities and vibrant food and drink scene, all led to it being recently named the best UK city outside of London to start a new business.

“Leeds is a city with real momentum behind it and as soon as we saw the space at Wellington Place, we knew it was an ideal location for the Cubo brand and its members.

“Not only is it a great location – near the railway station, hotels and the city centre – it also has a strong retail and hospitality offering, striking modern buildings with lots of natural light and great views, as well as amazing community initiatives.

“We are looking forward to working closely with MEPC to create unique opportunities for start-ups, SMEs and enterprises to have their own fully serviced, private office or hot desk memberships on flexible terms at a premier business address.”
