Developer buys site after forming joint venture with property investor
Housebuilder Yorkshire Country Properties (YCP) has bought a 2.5-acre site for 34 new homes in Denby Dale, as part of its expansion plans after recently forming a joint venture with Dominvs Group.
Located off Barnsley Road, the land has detailed permission and will accommodate 34 homes from one to five bedrooms, including six affordable Starter Homes.
The Starter Homes initiative is a Government scheme being implemented by Kirklees Council to make home ownership more affordable to younger people and people from the armed forces.
This is the third site acquired under the joint venture arrangement between the Holme Valley-headquartered development company and Dominvs Group in the last nine months, taking the total units in development to 95 with a gross development value of £34m.
Further land deals are currently being progressed as YCP continues to expand.
Yorkshire Country Properties is currently on-site building homes at Netherthong, Shepley and Skelmanthorpe.
Dominvs Group says it views Yorkshire as a key area for growth, with demand for property in the region booming, and increases in house prices continually topping the national average.
It adds that expansion in Yorkshire will form a part of its strategy to diversify its portfolio beyond London.

Work on the Denby Dale site is due to start in early 2022.
