New president at the chamber

Doncaster Chamber has appointed Andy Morley as its new president, after its hybrid AGM was held both in person at Owston Hall and as a live stream virtual meeting, on 21 December.

Morley who is the group managing director of ProAktive, has served as vice president for the last two years and succeeds from Jill Wood, whose term of presidency saw continuous growth in membership for the chamber despite very challenging and uncertain times.

The role of vice president will be taken by Fabian Braithwaite, managing partner of HSR Law.

The AGM also saw the official appointment of three non-executive board directors, elected by Doncaster Chamber members, Sarah Naylor, partner, Atherton Godfrey, Neil Mallison, managing director, Doncaster Cables and Heather Boyce, chief executive, Age UK Doncaster.

Dan Fell, Doncaster Chamber CEO, said: “On behalf of our members, team and other Board members I am pleased to be able to welcome Andy Morley as he takes up the reins as president. I would also like to express sincere thanks to Jill Wood who has worked closely with our leadership team to steer us well through what has been an extremely complex term of office for any President. She has done this whilst being a passionate advocate for our Borough, its SMEs and young people.”

Morley, added: “The AGM reminded everyone of the incredible hard work that has been put in by the Chamber Team during the last two years to support the business community through the pandemic. It’s clear from growing membership that Doncaster Chamber is now more relevant than ever and I’m excited to be part of the team as we work to promote business in the region and ensure that Doncaster has the best possible environment for business success.”
