Entrepreneur looks to increase his stake in Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town Football Club has confirmed Phil Hodgkinson has decided to step down as a director “in order to focus on his other business interests.”

In a statement released today, the club also says entrepreneur and Card Factory co-founder, Dean Hoyle, and PURE Sports Consultancy Limited – owned by Phil Hodgkinson – are in talks for Hoyle to re-acquire the shares held by PURE Sports in the club.

Completion of any agreement to acquire these shares will be subject to agreement, and the required third-party consents, including from the English Football League

Hodgkinson bought a 75% stake in Huddersfield Town in 2019 in a deal which also saw Hoyle step down as chair after a decade in the post.
