Harrogate-based manufacturer of medical grade orthopaedic supports, Neo G, has appointment of Dan Jones as chief executive officer.

The company confirmed the appointment as it relocated its offices and warehouse to a larger space to accommodate its expanding team and to meet the growing demand from international pharmaceutical retailers including Boots, Tesco, Walgreens and CVS.

Having been with the company since 2014, Jones will be taking over the role of CEO from founder, Paul Starkey, who will move into the position of chairman.

As commercial director, Jones has overseen large growth in the company.

Starkey said: “Dan has demonstrated his commitment to Neo G and our Medical Grade strategy. Over the last seven years, he has helped define and establish the company as the number one brand in the UK, and the fastest growing brand in the US.

“I am very proud of the way he has grown in the company and adopted the Neo G mantra as his own. I know he will take Neo G to new heights, and I will do everything I can as the chairman to support all of his and the teams’ efforts.”

Jones added: “I’m proud of what we as a team have achieved together in this time, especially through the pandemic. I look forward to continuing working with the team towards making the company even stronger going forward.”

The appointment of Jones as CEO follows the relocation of the firm to a fully refurbished office.

Group finance director, Chris Brookes, said: “The new offices look amazing and make for a fresh, contemporary and organised space to work from.

“The new innovation room and design studio allow our in-house experts to stay on the cutting edge of the industry and consistently produce new orthopaedic solutions.”

The move to a larger office and warehouse space is in line with Neo G’s expansion and plans to create 30 jobs over the coming years.

Leeds-based logistics operator, Europa Worldwide Group, is further expanding its European road freight division – Europa Road.

For Europa Road’s branch in Wakefield, this means a new regional manager and an acting branch manager are now in post. Both will be based Navigation Court, Calder Park.

The promotion last autumn of Adrian Redmile, Branch Network and Sales Director – who is from Yorkshire – kickstarted Europa Road’s largest ever team and network restructuring and investment programme.

His vision is to increase the Road Account Manager Sales Team at the European road freight division by spring 2022 to 80 members of staff.

Now, a new regional structure has just been launched. This includes the creation of a third regional manager role, covering the Midlands area of the UK, in addition to existing positions for the North and South.

Joe Partner has been appointed as new regional manager for the North. He will work with Sam Hogg who has been appointed acting branch manager for Wakefield.

Redmile said: “Our commercial forecasts identified the need to build on our market strengths so we can ensure our finger is on the pulse and we are responsive to customer needs.

“That’s why Europa Road’s organisational restructure and investment is so significant. The objective is to take a radical, decentralised approach, delivering local support to meet local supply chain requirements; something that is particularly important following the economic shocks of Covid and Brexit.

“Building a high performing team is vital at what is undoubtedly a dynamic and exciting time for the business. I look forward to collaborating with Joe and Sam and the wider team to deliver on our ambitions.”

Housing organisation Bedspace, which finds homes for vulnerable young people, is continuing its expansion into the children’s residential sector with two new appointments.

Pauline O’Connar joins as a children’s home manager with more than 20 years’ experience.

Having worked with children and young people with complex needs, in her previous role as an Ofsted registered children’s home manager at Derbyshire County Council, her qualifications and experience will be vital in making Bedspace’s first children’s home a blueprint for other homes in the future.

She will be joined by James McGill, a children’s home deputy manager. McGill has experience working with a variety of children with different traumas and support needs, and will help Bedspace create a home-like and supportive environment for children to develop.

These new additions follow the appointment of Danny Wilson as head of children’s residential in November 2021.

These appointments come as the organisation pledges to take on 100 new staff members across the North in the next two years.

O’Connar said: “The Bedspace team has a great reputation for providing a high standard of support and I’m excited to be part of its move into the children’s residential sector.

“With 20 years’ experience, I understand the importance of creating a positive and supportive environment for children and I’m confident we’ll be able to deliver this to make a real difference to young people across the UK.”

Danny Wilson, head of children’s residential, said: “Getting our first children’s home right is essential and to do that we need the best team.

“I have no doubt Pauline and James have the passion and commitment to transforming lives that is essential to make our children’s homes a success. I look forward to working with them and continuing to grow the team in the coming months.”
