Yorkshire advisors support Canadian acquisition

A team of Yorkshire advisors have supported Canadian-based Finning’s acquisition of Hydraquip Hose and Hydraulics.

The specialist provider of hydraulic hose repairs which operates across the UK and generates over £26m in revenues has been purchased by the world’s largest dealer of Cat machines, engines and equipment parts.

A Yorkshire based team supported the shareholders in relation to the transaction – Andy Miller and Andrew Barlow of Sentio Partners acted as lead adviser, with Carly Gulliver, Richard Hunt and Aidan Barry from Addleshaw Goddard providing legal advice.

Commenting on the deal, Barlow of Sentio said: “From our first conversation with Finning, the strategic rationale for the acquisition of Hydraquip was clear to see. It has been a pleasure to advise the shareholders – the transaction is a fitting reward for Duncan, Jay and Fintan who have built a quality business and now have huge potential to accelerate growth as part of a global organisation.”

Duncan MacBain, founder of Hydraquip described the deal as “an extremely exciting move” for the business which will support its continued growth.
