City centre property is perfect fit for fashion brand

An apparel brand has opened its third UK office in Leeds city centre.

Scarborough-headquartered business, SikSilk, has taken over a full commercial building within the Victoria Foundry complex, as part of its plans for global expansion.

The three-floor building has space for more than 60 desks, with multiple meeting and break-out areas.

SikSilk is retaining its original base in Scarborough and also has a footwear design studio in Glasgow.

Leeds is set to become a hub for its product teams across Buying, Merchandising, Design and Marketing, as the business continues to build its consumer base across the globe.

Wayne Aziz, SikSilk’s operations director, said: “Following a challenging period within the retail industry due to Covid and Brexit, we knew we needed to invest in the right space for our people as we prepare for future growth.

“Leeds seemed like a perfect option within our Yorkshire roots, and we’re proud to bring our business to support the rapidly growing commercial buzz across the cosmopolitan city.”

Cushman & Wakefield commercial real estate services supported with the acquisition of the property.

Sam Jamieson at Cushman & Wakefield said: “We were really pleased that SikSilk identified Leeds as the ideal location for the next stage of their growth and that we were able to assist in finding and acquiring new premises in the city on their behalf.

“Victoria Foundry is a unique self-contained building boasting original features and mezzanine levels with lots of character. It will provide the perfect platform for SikSilk to continue to flourish in Leeds and beyond.”
