Financial advisor marks year of growth with recruitment of 100th colleague

Accountants, business and financial advisers, Armstrong Watson’s Leeds team is celebrating a year of “exceptional growth” marked by the recruitment of the 100th colleague to join the business.

He is tax senior manager, Jamie Kelly, who has joined the firm at its office in South Parade.

Despite a challenging 12 months, the Leeds team has seen a 20% rise in year-on-year revenue growth from 2021 to 2022, and significant increases across service lines including audit, accountancy, corporate finance, tax, forensic accounting, and financial planning and wealth management.

This success is reflected in recent investment within the team, whose city centre base last year underwent a transformation to house the growing business and meet recruitment demands.

The firm continues its growth plans within the Leeds office, with further recruitment opportunities across its service lines. This follows its acquisition of long-standing Yorkshire Chartered Accountants, Grants, in February, and Volans, Leach & Schofield in June 2021.

Matt Osbourne, lead partner at Armstrong Watson Leeds office, said: “I am incredibly proud of what the Leeds team continues to achieve through organic growth, successfully combined with experienced hires, and our commitment to training through our graduate and apprenticeship recruitment programmes.

“Why I believe we continue to do well is that we don’t just ensure statutory requirements are met but offer the preparation and advice clients need to embrace their next big business event, be that expansion, investment, refinancing, or a sale transaction.

“The secret is our understanding of our market of private, owner-managed and family businesses and offering the expertise and experience of larger firms, while retaining a personal, collaborative and responsive approach.”
