City music venue to re-open following comprehensive refit

Hull’s underground music scene is about to be revived with the reopening of Tunnel later this month.

Having been closed since 2015, Tunnel, which is on Dagger Lane, has been given a complete refit. It now features a new sound and light system and décor, to create an intimate space for up to 240 clubbers.

Keen to promote rising stars on the DJ scene, Fridays will feature Drum and Bass, Baseline and Garage; Saturdays will have a House vibe and Tuesdays will be a student night with a blended music theme.

Tunnel’s house DJ, Josh Matthews, said: “It’s great to see the return of Tunnel after so many years. Hull’s really missed its once thriving non-commercial club scene, so I can’t wait to get behind the decks every Saturday in such an iconic, intimate setting.”

Tickets are on sale now for Tunnel’s opening weekend on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 September.
