Affordable homes destined for 2.6 acre site

United Living Group, which offers infrastructure, housing and property services, says United Living New Homes (ULNH) has been contracted to build 33 affordable homes by housing provider The Guinness Partnership.

The land for the 2.6 acre project is to the east of Doncaster Sheffield Airport off Church Lane, in Finningley.

Works will include open space provision and associated landscaping and drainage works.

The housing will be 100% affordable and is to comprise 12 two-bed homes and 21 three-bed homes, with a mix of properties for both shared ownership and affordable rent.

The contract is the second with The Guinness Partnership, who in March 2022 awarded ULNH a contract to deliver 311 residential apartments in the centre of Leeds – both shared ownership and affordable rent.

The Finningley project is expected to be completed by November 2023.

Graeme Walton, senior contracts manager, United Living New Homes, said: “United Living is pleased to be strengthening its position as a leading contractor delivering affordable homes across Yorkshire.

“This latest development will provide affordable homes to families working in the Doncaster area or commuting to nearby Sheffield or Rotherham.

“We are also happy that the development is expected to generate up to 40 new direct full-time construction jobs, helping to boost the local economy.”

Angela Garrard, director of development – North, The Guinness Partnership, said: “We are pleased to be working with United Living New Homes to provide much needed affordable homes in a village location, which will promote a sustainable local community.”
