Return to the office fuels growth for engineering consultancy

Leeds United, one of Dudleys' clients

Leeds-based structural and civil engineering consultancy, Dudleys, has achieved a 10% increase in turnover to £1.82m for 2022.

The company is now also projecting a further 10% year-on-year growth for the next three years to achieve £2.66m by the end of 2025.

During 2022 the practice, which counts Leeds United, Leeds/Bradford Airport and Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate as long-standing clients, has doubled the size of its Leeds offices, recruiting six more people, and has opened a new satellite office in Manchester to support growth in the North West.

Dudleys attributes a return to the office as a major contributing factor in restoring its growth path which, like most businesses, was impacted at the height of the pandemic in 2020/2022.

Andy Walker, managing director, said: “We are optimistic about future business development which will be enabled through regional growth and succession planning.

“Returning to the office has certainly helped for more productive working in our expanded, open plan workspace, and getting back to face-to-face interaction with clients is so important for building trust and collaboration.

“We have recently completed an Enterprise Management Incentive (EMI), allowing our extremely valued directors, Peter Dixon and Paul Brownlow to take shares in the business.

“Paul is also leading our North West growth with the exciting opening of our new office in Prestwich.”

Dudleys provides structural and civil engineering advice across the UK. It is currently advising CEG on its Drapers Yard redevelopment in Leeds and is also working with North Star to deliver its Roman Quarter in York.
