Dental practice acquired by first-time buyers

Roundhay Road Dental, in Leeds, has been sold for an undisclosed amount.

Established over 80 years ago it is a predominantly NHS dental practice with four surgeries, based in the suburb of Harehills.

The practice has been owned by Dr Aisha and Asim Zaman since 2017. They recently decided to sell due to a relocation of their family.

Following a confidential sales process with specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, the practice has been acquired by Dr Kunal Rai and Dr Namrata Sharma, who have specialisms in clear aligned therapy and restorative dentistry, and endodontics respectively.

They plan to work on raising the profile of the practice, and offering both NHS and private, cosmetic treatments.

The buyers said: “Roundhay Road Dental ticked all the boxes for us, including its potential to grow into a private practice and a convenient location.

“We had the confidence that we would be able to grow the practice, and so the price tag would be worthwhile.

“Our vision for the future is to provide a personalised service to each individual patient from the moment they arrive to when they leave, but with the business framework of expanding and being top of the game in technology and techniques.”

Olivia Allison, senior business agent – dental at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, added: “Roundhay Road is a fantastic NHS practice and the perfect buy for first-time buyers Kunal and Namrata. We wish them every success with the business going forward.

“We are continuing to see huge appetite from independent buyers. This demand is underpinned by strong appetite from high street lenders, providing buyers with an excellent opportunity to capitalise in a robust, needs-driven sector.”
