Club re-appoints business advisor after switching auditor for first time in 150 years

Super League club, Leeds Rhinos, has re-appointed mid-tier business advisory company Sedulo as its official auditor.

Sedulo, which has offices in Leeds, Manchester, London and Liverpool, has a long history of working alongside sporting organisations from grassroots level up to professional sports clubs and national governing bodies.

Its partnership with Leeds Rhinos partnership began in 2021. The club’s chief executive, Gary Hetherington, made the move to switch auditors to Sedulo that year.

He said: “We have been pleased with the partnership with Sedulo, they have helped drive our business forward over these past two years.

“Partnering with experts is a key part of our business and Sedulo are definitely experts, they are strengthening their team all the time and we both strive for success. Great people to deal with and they offer sound advice.”

In recent months, Sedulo has appointed four new group heads to lead its Audit, Tax Planning, Research and Development (R&D), Tax Relief and Forensic Accounting Departments.

One of those new arrivals, national head of audit Diccon Thornely, said: “Sedulo is not looking to compromise between the world-class service and audit quality it currently offers, and the growth it’s experiencing.

“As we build our Audit offering, sport continues to be a leading sector for us, with the re-appointment by Leeds Rhinos and the recent appointment by Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.

“We will look to bring in new talent to support our growth and our clients as we will never make concessions on our quality.”
