Both flights left on 26 March from LBA for the first time in the airport’s history. The new routes are two of those available from the airport’s 80 destinations schedule for 2023/2024.

Flights to Perpignan will operate through to 31 October 2023, with flights to Porto available up to 26 October 2023.

The Perpignan route connects Rugby League fans on both sides of the Channel, with the Catalan Dragons’ stadium, as well as providing a direct route to the historic city of Perpignan and the south of France. Porto has become a popular city break for holidaymakers across the UK.

Nicola McMullen, aviation director at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “It’s fantastic to kick off the new flights to Porto and Perpignan ahead of what is shaping up to be a fantastic summer season at LBA.

“These new routes have already sold incredibly well and we’re sure both routes will continue to be popular alongside our wider schedule throughout the year.”
