Property people: Tp bennett; Wrigleys Solicitors; and more

Architecture and design practice, Tp bennett, says director Andrew McLean has been appointed to lead the practice’s Leeds team.

The has had a team of architects and designers in Leeds since 2019. McLean’s move to the region is designed to accelerate the company’s presence in the city and comes off the back of significant project wins.

McLean has been with the practice for eight years and has worked across a range of projects for blue chip clients, predominantly in the fields of tech, finance, insurance and healthcare.

The ambition over the next three to five years is to grow the Leeds team and presence. Tp bennett has transformed the 1980s One City Square building into a new city-centre work destination, and has recently completed 11 & 12 Wellington Place in the city centre.

McLean said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to grow an established team of talented designers, at a time where there are lots of exciting projects happening in Leeds and the region, most notably our recent completion of 11 & 12 Wellington Place.

“I’m excited to be taking on this new challenge at tp bennett and accelerating our presence in the city and wider region.”

Leigh Dimelow, principal director of tp bennett for the Northern Region, said: “Having worked with Andrew for over eight years in London and the regions, I am pleased to have Andrew take up position to lead the Leeds office following significant growth for tp bennett in the North in the past decade.

Leeds and Sheffield-based Wrigleys Solicitors has confirmed the arrival of four new members to its Property team.

They are: Clair Douglas, Sadia Ali, Jonathan Earnshaw and Alasdair Inglis.

Douglas has joined as a rural property solicitor, bringing with her extensive experience in advising rural clients on all aspects of property law.

She has worked on a variety of cases, ranging from agricultural tenancies and commonhold registrations to livestock sales and development projects.

Ali joins the team as a commercial property solicitor, having previously advised clients on complex commercial property transactions including acquisitions, disposals, leases and portfolio management.

Earnshaw has recently qualified into the sector. He said: “This felt like the perfect challenge to kick off my career as a solicitor. I’m excited to get stuck in and look forward to helping the team expand its offering even further moving forward.”

Rachel Meredith, head of department for the Property team, said: “Developing our agricultural and rural property team with Clair joining has really added to this in-depth knowledge as she has worked within this market for over 13 years.

“Meanwhile, our commercial property work has organically grown enormously, and we are happy to welcome Sadia and Jonathan to support this busy and growing team.”

Inglis has been appointed partner in the firm’s Property department.

He said: “I am pleased to have joined Wrigleys and look forward to contributing to the Property team and the firm at large as it continues to provide quality services to its clients.”

A property management company which manages multiple developments across Yorkshire has appointed a new managing director to drive forward growth.

Paul Carter has taken the helm at Kingston, a leasehold block and estate management firm. The company manages sites across the county including in Barnsley, Leeds and York, and is anticipating further expansion to the North West, Midlands, Humberside and Lancashire regions.

Kingston also has a residential estate management arm, Open Spaces, and an estate and lettings agent, Living Spaces.

Carter succeeds Colin Ord as managing director, who will stay on at Kingston in a part-time capacity as business development director to use 20 years of expertise within the business to help support growth.

Carter said: “The aim is to push on with our growth, especially here in Yorkshire as well as in new geographical areas, while continuing to provide excellent services to our clients and ensuring we stay as leaders within our industry.

“Our focus is on sustainable growth, and it is essential we continue to develop and improve our service offering while keeping our clients and customers at the heart of what we do.

“It is an exciting time for the commercial company with a very encouraging pipeline of future business. That will generate more income and allow us to provide further support to The Bernicia Foundation.”

Kingston is the commercial arm of the Bernicia Group.
