Property industry goes full volume for three charities

Three Leeds charities will share tens of thousands of pounds through the generosity of the region’s property industry who will gather tonight – 8 June – at Elland Road for this year’s annual singing competition, The Crypt Factor.

Almost 1,000 members of the North of England’s property community will be at this year’s sold-out event and the organising committee and main sponsors, comprising of GV&Co, Pinsent Masons and Town Centre Securities PLC, expect to raise in excess of £80,000 for local charities.

The money will be split between long-term Crypt Factor beneficiaries St George’s Crypt and Leeds Community Foundation.

In addition, Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust will also receive a share of the money this year.

St George’s Crypt has worked with homeless people in Leeds since 1930 and has developed a comprehensive service to combat the revolving door of homelessness and supporting clients in learning to manage their addictions and dealing with issues.

This involves rebuilding self-respect and confidence, shedding a chaotic lifestyle, developing the skills to live independently and seeking pathways into employment.

Leeds Community Foundation connects people who want to make a real difference in a city where a quarter of people live in poverty.

The organisation’s Leeds Fund invests in community organisations that work to address inequalities and help their communities. Last year the Foundation supported 290 organisations, who helped over 63,000 local people.

Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust was established in 2015 by members of the property sector in Leeds, initially to distribute funds raised at the long running Yorkshire Property Charity Football event.

Today the trust supports all kinds of charities across Yorkshire and encourages members of the property community to nominate charities, as well as supporting specific projects or the purchase of equipment.

It has also match funded members of the property community in their fundraising efforts.

Craig Burrow, from Town Centre Securities PLC, said: “We have nine superb acts performing at Crypt Factor 2023 and the backing from the property industry is phenomenal, as always.

“This year’s event will take the total amount raised, since the first Crypt Factor in 2006, towards the £1m mark, which is incredible and we’re really looking forward to making a significant donation to these three unique charities later this month.

“Crucially, they are all based in Leeds, and support local people and causes, meaning we can see how the money is making a genuine difference and helping those who are on our doorstep and most in need, which makes Crypt Factor’s achievements even more rewarding.”

In addition to Crypt Factor’s main sponsors, TheBusinessDesk.com is the event’s official media partner, and further support is provided by Candid PR, Anderson Advertising & Property Marketing and NorthCap.

The event’s impressive stage set-up, lighting and sound is provided by AYRE Event Solutions.
