Property people: North Residential and The Redbrik Group

Yorkshire estate agency, North Residential, has recruited another high achieving expert to its growing team as it continues to pursue expansion across Yorkshire.

James Black has joined the Harrogate-based practice as a consultant focusing on prestige properties.

The former professional rugby player is already well known as a highly experienced property consultant across Yorkshire.

This comes just weeks after the recent appointment of Liz Dennsion, another well-regarded property advisor.

Harlan Pollitt, a founding director at North Residential, said: “James’s track record is formidable, and he is undoubtedly a major asset for the business as we continue our drive to expand across Yorkshire and beyond.

“A considerable part of our portfolio is high end properties with clients that need discretion from knowledgeable and well-connected experts that have an ear to the ground.  To this end we are focusing our recruitment drive in attracting the best people in the business.

“As an independent practice, with no external debt or funding, and full autonomy to pursue ambitious growth plans, we are very excited for the future at North.”

Black recently secured an off-market sale in North Yorkshire well over the asking price of £5m. He has also brought forward a sale instruction for the Old Rectory, a 17th century estate which has undergone refurbishment with an asking price of £4.25m.

He said: “Having spent many years cultivating contacts and a strong reputation, predominantly through friendships and recommendations, it is critical that I align with likeminded people that I can trust to deliver a first-class service for my clients.

“North Residential is growing at an exponential rate, with a relatively young team and a new dynamic that is taking the market by storm, and I am excited to be a part of that.”

North Residential has previously reveaked ambitious expansion plans with the opening of at least three new UK locations per annum, and a targeted growth of around 60% year on year.

The practice, which rebranded away from Knight Frank after 15 years, has opened branches in Pocklington, East Yorkshire and Northallerton and is planning to open further offices in Leeds and York in the near future.
