People: Solutions 4 Cleaning; HICA Group; HMi Elements; and more

Karen Staniforth has been appointed as the new managing director at Doncaster-based Solutions 4 Cleaning Ltd.

Solutions 4 Cleaning is the cleaning division of the £35m turnover HEB Group and provides tailored cleaning solutions for businesses across several sectors.

Staniforth, 53, has joined Solutions 4 Cleaning from Frenchgate Shopping Centre in Doncaster, where she held the role of general manager for several years.

Prior to that, she was a head of marketing within the music industry and has also previously worked in senior positions in the construction and property management sectors.

Solutions 4 Cleaning was procured by the HEB Group in 2019 and now completes the HE Barnes Facilities Management offer, enabling the group to offer a complete turnkey solution for companies of all sizes.

Staniforth said: “I’m taking on the leadership of Solutions 4 Cleaning at a real time of growth and development for the company.

“We have great capabilities, and I am happy to be entrusted with leading the next phase, alongside the HE Barnes Group and its talented and committed team, who have built something special which I’m looking forward to building on.

“We have a great service offer and a strong customer base, which is very much growing. We have recently won three significant contracts and we are very flexible in terms of the variety of clients we work with.

A regional provider of care homes and services has made a strategic appointment which is designed to enhance its training provision and, in turn, the quality of its care delivery.

Hessle-based HICA Group, which has over 1,500 employees, has welcomed Carl Taylor as regional trainer.

He will provide learning and development to staff across a number of HICA’s care home and care services in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire including Grimsby Homecare, The Anchorage, Prospect House, The Birches, The Wolds, and Cranwell Court.

Taylor will spearhead the delivery of comprehensive induction training to new recruits. He will also provide requalification training to existing employees, enabling them to stay up to date with the latest industry standards and practices related to care delivery.

“His expertise in care and education, coupled with his passion for person-centred care, will undoubtedly elevate the training standards across the group and enhance the quality of our care provision. Welcome to the team, Carl.”

Taylor brings extensive experience in the care and education sector having previously worked for Kisimul Group which provides education and care for children and adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs.

He has also served as a tutor at the Grimsby Institute, where he taught Level 3 Psychology.

His academic background, which includes a BSc degree in Applied Psychology and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), reflects his dedication to both education and care.

Taylor, 34, said: “I’m excited to be a part of the HICA Group and to contribute to the delivery of exceptional person-centred care across the region.

HMi Elements, a supplier of Zone 1 and Zone 2 certified hazardous area HMI and Data Acquisition hardware for the oil and gas industry, has appointment Robert Molnar (Bob) as its new managing director.

With an extensive background in naval defence, a wealth of experience in the oil and gas industry, and a successful career spanning over three decades, Molnar brings a fresh perspective to the Malton-headquartered company’s leadership team.

Originally hailing from Toronto, Canada, he made the United Kingdom his home in 2010.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous grassroots companies to significant players in the oil and gas industry, as well as the aerospace sector.

Notably, he has held key positions at major organisations, such as GE Power and Toshiba Inc.

Before joining HMi Elements, he spent the past two years running his own business consultancy, Protomatrix.

In his new role, his primary responsibility will be to collaborate with Howard Gould, the reappointed CEO, in managing and navigating the rapid growth which HMi Elements is currently experiencing.

Professor Liz Mossop has been appointed as the next Vice-Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University.

Professor Mossop has developed a strong academic career in higher education leadership.

Currently, Provost and senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Lincoln, she leads an academic community of 18,000 students and 1,100 academic colleagues, and around a third of professional service colleagues focused on the student experience.

Prior to this, she was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Student Engagement and Development at Lincoln, after leaving the University of Nottingham as Professor of Veterinary Education alongside a senior leadership role in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Commenting on her new role at Sheffield Hallam, she said: “The university’s strong civic mission and values align completely with the role I feel universities should be playing in society today.

“I am very excited to be coming to join the Hallam community, meeting new colleagues and students and connecting with the city and region.”

Professor Mossop began her career as a veterinary surgeon and is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh.

With a commitment to science and education, she continues to contribute actively to her research field.

She was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy in 2016.

She is a council member of the Academy of Medical Educators, a member of the Teaching Excellence Framework panel, board member of Nottingham College and vice chair of the European Veterinary Accreditation Committee, and she makes significant contributions to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Professor Mossop will join Sheffield Hallam as Vice-Chancellor in January 2024.
