Tech firm extends sponsorship deal with Rugby League team

Hull Kingston Rovers (KR) and Hull-based smart solutions and broadband provider, Connexin, have unveiled a two-year extension to their men’s first team principal partner sponsorship deal.

The extended partnership with Hull KR Rugby League team follows on from the provider’s recent announcement of Connexin Live, a newly rebranded live entertainment venue in Hull’s city centre.

Connexin entered the broadband market in 2012, aiming to provided the region with a more competitive marketplace and is now building its own full-fibre network in the city. It has worked with Hull KR for the last two years to grow awareness of its offering.

Furqan Alamgir, co-founder and CEO of Connexin, said: “It was always our intention to grow and extend the partnership with Hull KR.

“The first two years were about growing our brand recognition and learning what the fans want from a sponsor, which the partnership has done.

“Now it’s time to have some fun with it and deliver some new and different ideas to help support each other to grow again.

“The Robins and the Red Army have our unconditional support.”

Paul Lakin, chief executive at Hull KR, added: “We are two Hull-based organisations undergoing big change and growth, so in many respects we are perfect for each other, as we continue to flourish alongside each other and disrupt our respective markets.

“We feel like the partnership is really finding its feet now, and we can really push each other as forward thinkers in our fields.

“We enjoy working together and it means a lot to us to know we’ve got their full backing and support for the next two seasons.

“Connexin join the company of the iconic brand, Riding Bitter, as our longest ever principal shirt partners. We hope the extension is just the start of many more exciting years to come.”
