New venture partner for ambitious proptech company

Proptech company CurveBlock has appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire, Stephen Boardman MBE, as a venture partner.

Leeds-based CurveBlock is bringing forward energy positive homes and other schemes around the UK and has ambitious plans for 2024 that form part of a £500m pipeline of opportunities.

Boardman will be working with CurveBlock on the development of energy independent real estate projects, ranging from social housing, the care sector, and commercial regeneration developments.

Gary Woodhead, chief executive of CurveBlock, said: “Our shared military backgrounds, coupled with Stephen’s extraordinary service record in the Army and leadership within several business verticals, including real estate and technology, add a unique dimension to the partnership.

“Stephen’s unwavering commitment to duty and leadership aligns with CurveBlock’s vision and we are enthusiastic about the prospects for our collaboration.”

Boardman has 40 years’ experience in his army and business careers. His current roles include leading Verity Group, which he founded, and he is a director of VIA Labs (GB).

“My association with CurveBlock extends beyond a professional alliance; it signifies a mutual commitment to discipline, social innovation, and service,” added Boardman.

“I am eager to bring my extensive experience to bear on CurveBlock’s pioneering projects, especially those fusing technology with sustainable real estate development.”

Boardman joins former Leeds United footballer Dominic Matteo and his wife Jessica, and finance specialists David Reed and Paul Stallard, who are CurveBlock’s venture partners.

It also has a partnership with construction consultants Rasico to deliver its development projects.
