Manufacturing site to create another 500 jobs

Caddick Group’s Leeds Valley Park, a major new manufacturing site expected to create hundreds of jobs, has been completed and handed over to its new owners.
After initially being brought forward by Caddick Developments, Caddick Construction has handed the site over to the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF).
The site features 300,000 sq ft of warehouse space across six units. Ranging between 25,000 and 70,000 sq ft, all six units offer space for a range of logistics, manufacturing and distribution uses.
Over 300 jobs have been created during the construction phase, with an additional 500 set to be created once the development is fully occupied.
Throughout the build, Caddick Construction dedicated nearly 60% of its supply chain spend to the local area.
A significant portion of space is now under offer from businesses looking to move into the scheme in early 2024.
Alistair Smith, associate director at Caddick Developments, said: “Our vision for Leeds Valley Park has always been to create more than just a logistics hub.
“We aimed to establish a sustainable and innovative space that not only meets the needs of businesses today, but also anticipates and adapts to the demands of the future.
“Through our partnership working with Caddick Construction and the Greater Manchester Pension Fund, we have successfully made this a reality, while also creating significant employment opportunities throughout the build phase and beyond.”
Kevin Etchells, head of real assets at Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF), said: “Through continued collaboration with Caddick Developments and Caddick Construction, we’re pleased to have reached completion at Leeds Valley Park both on time and on budget.
“Caddick Group’s agility has ensured a seamless handover for this high-quality, sustainable scheme, which is set to become the city’s premier logistics location.
“We are already receiving high levels of interest both from local businesses and from those looking to establish a Leeds base.”
Paul Dodsworth, managing director of Caddick Construction Group, added: “As we hand over this flagship industrial scheme, the city of Leeds also finds itself placed in Europe’s Top 100 Cities.
“This accolade just goes to show what this fantastic region has to offer businesses, both new and growing.
“We’re proud that Leeds Valley Park can form part of the city’s success, and we look forward to seeing what opportunities this development will bring to the many local businesses looking to take up well-located, state-of-the-art commercial space.”
CBRE, Avison Young and Carter Towler are marketing the site on behalf of GMPF.
