Ambitious plans unveiled for employment-boosting business park

Lindum Group has proposed a new local plan to develop a new business park in Scunthorpe.

Stratum Park will offer industrial and logistics build opportunities from 4,000 sq ft, up to 150,000 sq ft.

The proposed 12-acre business park will be strategically located at the crossroads of the A18 and M181, linking to the M180, M18, and M62.

Mitul Shah, Lindum senior development manager, said: “We are thrilled to be at the point of marketing what is expected to be a very exciting and popular development.

“This will be a fantastic opportunity to further develop the Scunthorpe area and help to increase local employment and provide a boost to the local economy.

“We have strategically selected Scunthorpe for this development project, with its rich industrial history in steel manufacturing and more recently diversifying into a range of manufacturing sectors.

“The location is also ideal for businesses, as it sits within 25 miles of around one million economically active people and nearly 150,000 people actively seeking a job.”

William Wall, director at Eddisons incorporating Banks Long & Co, said: “The town has a wide range of thriving businesses and preliminary discussions are already ongoing with potential occupiers who are doubtless attracted by the convenient location that provides quick access to both the town centre and the M180.”

Lincolnshire Lakes is next to the proposed site, which is currently part of a major urban project. The £1.2bn initiative aims to create communities by harnessing the region’s natural assets, including its network of lakes and waterways.

There are also plans for 6,000 homes to be built as part of the project within the next five years.

Stuart Waite, director at Commercial Property Partners, said: “We are happy to be appointed as agents on this exciting new business park and look forward to working with our client and joint agents to deliver the scheme.

“We can accommodate a range of unit sizes and deliver to suit end users’ specific requirements on what is a very well connected site with a wealth of amenity nearby.”
