Biogas sector specialist creates ‘lifeline’ in response to industry demand

Humber-based anaerobic digestion specialist, Birch Solutions, has unveiled plans to become the biggest parts supplier to this industry in the UK.

It has invested in doubling the size of its warehouse, after securing new strategic deals with international manufacturers.

Birch Solutions, based in Melton Ross, explains that with renewed challenges in a post-Brexit environment, many anaerobic digestion (AD) plant operators are struggling to source key parts from overseas.

The company aims to fulfil this demand and notes its new parts service has rapidly grown in popularity in recent months.

It has agreed a number of preferred supplier deals with brands such as 2G, Himmel, Steverding, Paulmichl, PTM and Pronova and has secured preferential rates with other brands, including Suma, Vogelsang, Borger, Wangen, Vega and Landia.

The business can also supply chemicals for AD plants, along with testing services.

Birch Solutions’ Parts Business Manager Jack Brow says: “We have been at the heart of the anaerobic digestion industry for years and we understand the challenges operators face.

“We realised one of the biggest issues facing most AD plants was sourcing parts when they needed them.

“We have partnerships or relationships with all of the major manufacturers in this sector and it made sense for us to create a solution for AD plant operators across the UK. The parts service has become a lifeline for operators and has grown quickly.”
