Works begin on 155-bed hotel at Bramall Lane football stadium

Development work on a new DoubleTree by Hilton hotel at Sheffield’s Bramall Lane football stadium has now begun, with the hotel expected to welcome its first guests from late summer 2024.

The project will create 100 new jobs and is also designed to enhance the Bramall Lane offering for locals and travellers alike.

The 155-room hotel will include a penthouse suite, a fitness centre, and events space for up to 300 guests.

Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy pre- and post-match gatherings in the hotel’s lounge bar and take advantage of its events facilities.

Richard Farrar, managing director of hotel management company, leaf HOSPITALITY, said: “We are pleased to embark on this exciting project at Bramall Lane on behalf the club.

“The DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City conversion will elevate the hospitality experience for visitors and fans alike.”

Stephen Bettis, CEO of Sheffield United FC, added: “We are thrilled to welcome the DoubleTree by Hilton to our prestigious and historic Bramall Lane stadium.

“This new addition will further enhance the matchday experience for our supporters and contribute to the ongoing development of the S2 area. The return of the hotel is welcomed by everyone at the football club.”

When completed this summer, DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City will be the third Hilton branded property in the area, joining DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield Park and Hampton by Hilton Sheffield.
