Cash grant to help create up to 200 city centre jobs

Up to 200 full-time equivalent city centre jobs will be created thanks to the latest grant award from Hull City Council’s Levelling Up Fund.

Clearanswer Call Centre Ltd has been awarded £283,403 towards its project at Essex House, on Manor Street.

The applicant aims to revamp the first floor office space into a 120-seat call centre, as well as upgrade its IT system infrastructure.

This would facilitate further workspace for employment in addition to around 200 full-time equivalent roles already projected.

Clearanswer Call Centre also plans to relocate the current reception and HR areas of Essex House from the first floor to the ground floor.

The funding, which amounts to 50% of the project costs, has come from the council’s Government-backed Levelling Up Fund.

Around 3,200 sq ft of vacant floor space will be brought back into use as a result of the works.

Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for regeneration at Hull City Council, said: “I am pleased that the council is able to support this project through Levelling Up Funding.

“The applicant proposes to create hundreds of new city centre jobs, something which is one of the council’s priorities and which will help to boost Hull’s wider economy.”
