People: Square One Law; Mills & Reeve; and more

A commercial law firm has made a series of hires and promotions as it continues to invest in growing its Yorkshire presence.

Square One Law has recruited six new members of staff and promoted one more to support its new and existing clients.

Jasmin Kainth, formerly of Gateley Legal and Dylan Hooper, formerly of Shoosmiths, have joined the company as paralegals.

Elizabeth Shaduwa has joined as a senior associate, Raya Royle and Zoe Ibbitson, have arrived as legal PAs and Kyle Taylor has been taken on as an apprentice paralegal. 

Amelia Smalley has also been promoted from paralegal to trainee solicitor, having started as a commercial property paralegal in June 2022.

National law firm, Mills & Reeve, has recruited Stephanie Douthwaite to its growing family team.

Douthwaite, who has joined as a principal associate, advises high-net-worth individuals across family law matters including complex financial remedies, pre and post marital agreements and children proceedings.

She holds Resolution Specialist Accreditation and is also a qualified Collaborative Family Lawyer. 

She joins from Clarion Solicitors where she was a legal director. Her appointment follows that of partner Jane Ingleby, who also joined from Clarion Solicitors where she was head of family law.

Philip Way, head of the family team in Leeds, said: “As our practice in the region continues to grow, we need lawyers with a wealth of experience to advise our client base of high-net-worth individuals with complex needs across children, international, wealth protection, business, pensions and cohabitation law.

Sheffield medical technology company, B Braun Medical Ltd, has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of Helene Ghosh as its new HR director.

Ghosh, from Batley, has over 16 years of experience at BT. She served as a HR director within the global part of the business.

In her previous roles she had global responsibility for the HR function for commercial, strategy, transformation, digital product, banking, and finance sectors, as well as serving as the regional HR director for the Americas.

Her most recent role involved spearheading HR efforts in the Asia, Middle East, and Africa regions, while also leading global health and well-being initiatives for over 13,500 employees.

She said “I was attracted to join B Braun due to the company’s unique blend of global outlook and local delivery, which aligns with my professional ethos and experience.

“I am committed to leveraging my skills to lead the HR team towards a harmonious global approach, fostering collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the organisation.”
