Administration looms for steelworks business
A North Yorkshire-based steelworks company has filed a notice of intention to appoint an administrator.
Harrogate Steel Company Ltd, which is based in Dacre outside Harrogate, has been trading since 2016 and offers a design, fabrication and installation service for residential and commercial developments.
The firm provides structural steelwork, and architectural metalwork. It has worked on several large-scale schemes including football stadiums, along with retail, hospitality, and education projects.
According to the latest available accounts for the company, made up to the year ended 31 December 2022, the business employed an average of 28 employees during 2022, up from 19 the previous year.
The firm owed creditors more than £1m at the time and had net assets that totalled around £270,000.
