Bar and restaurant opening to offer fresh lease of life to listed building

A listed building in Otley, West Yorkshire, will be brought back into use as a bar and restaurant following the grant of a premises licence.

Treehouse Bar and Kitchen is due to open in the town following renovation of the building in Bondgate. The Grade II-listed property previously housed Korks Wine Bar, which shut in 2017.

Last year, RFR Holdings secured listed building consent to make alterations to the site. These included knocking down an extension and constructing a new two-storey extension, along with a garden area and pizza oven.

Leeds City Council has now approved a licence application from Treehouse Bars Otley for the revamped premises. The business already has a branch in Haworth which has been trading for three years.

The firm says it will be looking to employ up to 50 staff within the Bondgate venue, including kitchen, front of house and bar staff.
