Andy Dabbs raises the roof to win Crypt Factor 2024

Last night the region’s property community were all in tune to see Crypt Factor sail past a momentous milestone, with more than £1m now raised for charity, as well as enjoying a magnificent competition that was won by Andy Dabbs from Whittam Cox Architects.
Andy put on a superb performance of Piano Man by Billy Joel to be crowned the winner and saw off fierce competition from eight other solo acts and groups who all work in the North of England’s property sector. All the acts enjoyed huge support and were cheered along by a sell-out audience of almost 1,000 of their peers and colleagues at Elland Road.
The acts were judged by a panel from the show’s organising committee and main sponsors, comprising Craig Burrow from Town Centre Securities PLC, Dawn Allen from Pinsent Masons and Garry Howes from GV&Co, before the audience voted for the eventual winner. The spectacular show, which was delivered by audio and visual partner, Ayre Event Solutions, was compered by Ben Hall from NorthCap.
It’s estimated that last night’s event will have raised more than the £80,000 raised in 2023, which will be split between Leeds based charities, St George’s Crypt and Yorkshire Property Charitable Trust.
The total was boosted further by First Direct Arena donating a box for 16 people, including a meal and drinks, for a choice of acts, which was auctioned by James Pank from Auction House and sold for £6,000.
In addition to Crypt Factor’s main sponsors, additional support is provided by the event’s official media partner, TheBusinessDesk.com, Candid PR, Anderson Advertising & Property Marketing and Roxy.
Crypt Factor committee member, Garry Howes, from GV&Co, said: “Crypt Factor 2024 will be remembered as one of the best ever. Taking the total amount raised for local charities, which crucially benefits local people, to more than £1million since the first Crypt Factor in 2007, is incredible. However, we couldn’t do it without the amazing support and generosity that the North of England’s property community gives us year after year and for that we’re extremely grateful.
“The planning for next year’s Crypt Factor has already started and we’re now on the hunt for budding singers to participate. It’s an amazing, one-off opportunity to perform in front of a huge audience with a professional production, set-up and lots of support that brings the best out of everyone who takes part. Anyone interested should contact us now.”
Andy Dabbs added: “Winning Crypt Factor and the whole experience has been unbelievable. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It was a fantastic night and I’d urge anyone considering taking part next year to go for it!”
