Inter-city coach business poised to serve another destination

Affordable travel company, FlixBus, has confirmed it is launching services for Hull this summer.

Tickets are available to purchase now on a daily service, starting on Thursday 1 August 2024, for Hull, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Manchester Airport.

Services will be available at Hull Paragon Interchange, allowing passengers to travel to and from the city centre and connecting Hull to the wider FlixBus network.

The company will be the first travel service to offer a direct connection between Hull and Liverpool, without needing to change. This route will include Liverpool’s One Bus Station and Wavertree Shopping Centre.

Similarly, the Hull route will take passengers directly to and from Manchester Airport.

Managing director of FlixBus UK, Andreas Schorling, said: “Adding the city of Hull on to our ever-growing map of destinations in the UK is a milestone on our journey to become the biggest coach network in the country.

“We are proud to be connecting the North of England through our convenient and comfortable journey options, bringing affordable, sustainable routes to cities which are underserved by other transport operators.”

The company – known for its bright green coaches – has grown since its launch in the UK three years ago, with 70 destinations now on its nationwide network.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, cabinet portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways at Hull City Council, said: “The council is pleased to welcome FlixBus to Hull and is excited by the increased choice that the company will bring to our city for travel across the North of England for our residents.

“The connection to Manchester Airport will be particularly beneficial, as we know many people in the city use the airport for international travel and having a direct service offer will provide real convenience.”
