Wet start to summer fails to dampen sales for manufacturer
Aqualand Industries, a West Yorkshire maker of electric carts and buggies, says it has enjoyed record sales for holiday parks, theme parks, and zoos across the UK and Europe this year.
The Holmfirth-based advanced manufacturer saw sales climb 700% to 441 units in the first half of the year.
It supports a range of customers, from large operators such as Haven to smaller independent glamping sites, to create fun family experiences with its six-wheeled Crazi-Bugz, Adventure Trukz electric carts, and Adventurer pedal carts.
The company adds it has also seen overseas orders increase, with new customers in Denmark, France and Ukraine, despite export challenges post-Brexit.
Carl Byford, general manager, said: “The poor weather so far this summer has done little to dampen demand for our products. We’ve seen rising interest from across Europe for our electric vehicles and new pedal cart, which is proving to be hugely popular with family-focused venues.
“As we seek to grow our business, I’d like to see a reduction in paperwork for export, which is proving to be an ever-growing overhead. I’m sure a frictionless trading arrangement would further accelerate our growth.”
The firm recently launched a Scandinavian sales team to serve demand from the region. It is also expanding its current premises to increase manufacturing capacity.
Aqualand Industries manufactures all of its products in the UK at its R&D and manufacturing facility in West Yorkshire. The company also provides maintenance and service to its customers for its products.
