Administration looms for worktop and bathroom surfaces manufacturer

A company based near York which produces and supplies worktops and bathroom surfaces, has confirmed it intends to appoint administrators.

Marble Building Products (Yorkshire) Ltd, which posted the Notice of Intention via law firm Addleshaw Goddard, employed an average of 136 employees during 2022, according to its annual report for the year ended 30 December 2022.

The report also notes the business had a turnover for the period of £15.4m (2021: £12.2m) and made a pre-tax profit of £370,255 (2021: £318,222).

Marble Building Products has been trading since 1989 and has been based at Full Sutton for 24 years, after outgrowing its previous facility in Malton.

It supplies products to kitchen and bathroom studios, merchants, builders and other outlets.
