The Apprentice 2024 winner revealed as keynote speaker for Yorkshire Finance Leaders Awards
Leeds-born Rachel Woolford, the winner of this year’s The Apprentice, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the prestigious Yorkshire Finance Leaders Awards 2024.
Sponsored by leading global professional services firm Aon, international professional services firm BDO LLP, and financial recruitment specialist Marks Sattin, the awards recognise the region’s brightest and talented finance stars.
After leaving her job in finance to pursue her passion for fitness, Rachel established boutique wellness space North Studio in Roundhay during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Rachel grew the gym and opened a second studio in Harrogate in 2023. The stylish gym provides members with a range of classes, from run and cycle sessions to barre and vinyasa yoga, seven days a week.
Rachel will deliver her speech at the Yorkshire Finance Leaders Awards 2024, which are taking place at The Queens Hotel in Leeds on Thursday 24 October, recounting how she changed careers, set-up a business in the most challenging of times, and beat the other candidates to be crowned Lord Sugar’s business partner in this year’s The Apprentice.
Rachel Woolford said: “I’m thrilled to be speaking at the Yorkshire Finance Awards 2024 and sharing with you the ups and downs of setting up my business and for those of you who are fans of The Apprentice, I’ll be sharing my experience on the show and what it was really like working with Lord Sugar.”
Steve Wilson, Head of Aon Accelerate, said: “We are honoured that Rachel has agreed to inspire and entertain the 250 attendees, including our finalists. With a background in finance and as a true entrepreneur, not to mention winner of this year’s The Apprentice, it is going to be a great night.”
British sports journalist and former BBC Look North television presenter, Tanya Arnold, will once again be the evening’s compere.
The awards, which recognise, promote and celebrate exceptional finance leaders in Yorkshire, are now in their eighth year. They showcase the achievements of regional finance directors, chief finance officers, financial controllers and wider finance teams, who are the bedrock of the region’s economic growth.
