Claim your place in Yorkshire’s Top Tech 2025
Do you want to put your company on the radar of the region’s technology funders? Or tap into the best networking opportunities in the Leeds networking ecosystem to help secure vital capital? Then claim your place in Top Tech Yorkshire 2025.
Top Tech Yorkshire 2025 (Top Tech), in partnership with TheBusinessDesk.com, is offering Yorkshire technology companies membership to a unique programme in the Yorkshire eco-system.
Top Tech provides networking, profile-raising, and mentoring opportunities to companies in the region which have developed world-leading technology, are using technology to disrupt markets, or whose technology and services are helping others become leaders in their fields.
As a member of Top Tech, Yorkshire technology companies will become part of a thriving community, with direct access to a group of mentors and supporters who rank among some of the region’s leading technology entrepreneurs, advisers and service providers.
Yorkshire is a hotbed for innovation and many of our technology businesses are putting the region on the world stage as a centre of excellence. Yet while the sector is ripe for investment, securing vital funding and finding the right partner with shared vision and values remains a huge challenge for many. It is one of the many challenges which Top Tech is designed to help technology businesses meet.
Several of our mentors have unrivalled experience and expertise in the funding arena and include Gareth Llewellyn, Investment Director at Northern Gritstone, which focuses on backing university spinouts and science and technology enabled businesses in the north of England.
Joining Gareth is Iain Marlow, Head of Investment at private equity firm, Traditum, which has funded technology deals in the Yorkshire region, and Jordan Dargue, co-founder of Lifted Ventures, a facilitator of early-stage investment and builder of business angel networks. To date, Lifted Ventures has facilitated more than £450m of funding, helping 500 entrepreneurs.
Gareth, Iain and Jordan are just three of around 20 experienced tech sector experts who have committed to mentor and support Top Tech members.
Mills & Reeve corporate partner Paul Johnson said: “It can be difficult for growing tech companies to get in front of the right investors and corporate advisers. Our aim for Top Tech is to create networking, profile-raising and mentoring opportunities in the local ecosystem, and helping companies to find the best investment partners who can help them navigate the next phase of development is a big part of that.
“Alongside investors, our mentors include corporate financiers, accountants, and technology entrepreneurs who have secured investment as part of their growth journey. It can be a lonely and often frustrating experience trying to secure investment. However, gaining access to the right advice early on can help prevent a costly, time-consuming and often fruitless exercise.”
To become a member of the Top Tech programme, businesses will need to complete a submission which explains how they demonstrate or harness technological innovation, their ambitions for the future, and where they fit into the Yorkshire technology eco-system.
The Top Tech membership submissions window closes on Friday 8 November. Member businesses will then be invited to a series of networking and mentoring events, and benefit from the profile-raising platform provided by our mentors and supporters and their fellow members.
