West Yorkshire craft brewery alerts administrators
A Huddersfield-based craft brewery has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators.
Magic Rock Brewing Company, which operates from Willow Park Business Centre and also has a taphouse in Holmfirth, was established by Richard Burhouse and head brewer Stuart Ross in 2011.
The brewery says its products are inspired by both local brewing tradition and the US beer scene.
According to Companies House, the business’s next accounts made up to 31 December 2022 are more than a year overdue.
Magic Rock’s last available accounts, made up to 31 December 2021, recorded a turnover of £5.3m, a pre-tax loss of £64,278 and an average number of employees of 65 during 2021, up from 35 in 2020.
Magic Rock was acquired by Australian-headquartered beer company, Lion, in 2019.
