Avant Homes plans to develop a 300-home scheme near Barnsley

Housebuilder Avant Homes has submitted plans to deliver a 300-home development in Thurnscoe, near Barnsley.

The £66.5m scheme could see residents move in within a year if planning approval is granted by Barnsley Council.

Richard Hosie, Avant Homes

Avant’s managing director for West Yorkshire, Richard Hosie, said: “As a housebuilder, we are committed to build quality new homes for everyone in places where people want to live.

“Our proposed development in Thurnscoe represents an opportunity to deliver on this and provide practically designed, energy efficient homes ideal for a range of buyers.”

The development would include 30 homes for affordable housing and provide a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom homes.

Work is scheduled to start on the Thurnscoe Bridge Lane site in May, if approved.

Avant Homes has six live developments in West Yorkshire and last week lodged plans to build up to 75 homes on Green Belt land between Menston and Otley.
