The Restaurant Hub stays on the menu at Sainsbury’s

Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) has confirmed that all of its ‘The Restaurant Hub’ outlets inside Sainsbury’s supermarkets will continue to operate as usual.

Sainsbury’s announced last week that it will be cutting more than 3,000 jobs as it plans to shut 61 in-store cafes. The closures are part of plans by the UK’s largest supermarket group to save £1bn over three years, as the majority of its shoppers prefer to use cafés and food halls run by specialist partners.

The Restaurant Hub is a partnership between BRG and Sainsbury’s, combining BRG’s brands; Caffè Carluccio’s, Slim Chickens, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), Ed’s Easy Diner, and Harry Ramsden’s, with the convenience of supermarket locations.

Since its initial launch in July 2021 at Sainsbury’s Selly Oak, the concept has expanded to multiple locations, including Sainsbury’s stores in Leicester, Manchester, Coventry, Wakefield, Kidderminster and Wolverhampton.

Satnam Leihal, CEO of BRG said: “Our collaboration with Sainsbury’s is stronger than ever, and we are delighted to continue our operations of The Restaurant Hub concept.

“Customers can still enjoy their favourite meals from our leading restaurant brands, whether they choose to dine in or take away.”
