It is a laughing matter – comedy and entertainment venue to open this spring

Comedy and entertainment venue, The Glee, is coming to Leeds this spring.
It will be opening its sixth UK venue on Albion Street, and will offer a weekly programme of comedy, live music and entertainment.
The comedy venue operator opened its first venue in 1994 in a purpose-built venue outside of London and has since become known for hosting live comedy alongside music, cabaret, and special events.
Comedy and entertainment performers who have regularly graced its stages include Peter Kay, Michael McIntyre, Jo Brand, Lee Evans, Sarah Millican and Jack Whitehall.
The new 400-capacity Leeds venue will feature theatre-style seating and an extensive food and drink offering including bar classics such as burgers, nachos, and sourdough pizzas, which can be washed down with cocktail pitchers, beer buckets and a selection of wines.
The Glee founder, Mark Tughan, said: “It’s no secret that Yorkshire folk like a good laugh and Leeds is a city we’ve long been looking at as a location to further expand The Glee brand, so we are really excited to make this announcement.
“We’ve got some incredible acts lined up and will also be providing a platform for local performers too with plenty of homegrown Yorkshire talent on the bill.
“Our fit out is progressing well and we can’t wait to open the doors to the new venue and welcome customers to The Glee experience.”
