Accountancy firm to bring 190-strong city team under one roof with office move

Independent accountancy firm, BHP, is relocating its Sheffield office to the Albert Works.

The firm, which is currently based across three buildings on Clarkehouse Road, will be bringing its 190 strong Sheffield team together under one roof in the city centre.

This marks the latest evolution in BHP’s presence in the city, having been founded in Sheffield in 1867. The business has been in its current offices near the city’s Botanical Gardens for over 50 years.

Its new office was once a cutlery works and most recently home to data science and marketing business Jaywing.

Joining BHP in the new office will be colleagues from Translink, the firm’s corporate finance team.

Lisa Leighton, joint CEO at BHP, said: “Sheffield has been an integral part of BHP’s growth, and we’re thrilled to be relocating our base and continuing to be part of its thriving local community having been situated here for over 150 years.

“As trusted advisors we understand the importance of collaborating and we’re pleased our new office in the city centre will bring together all our teams under one roof.

“This colocation will further enhance our ability to support our clients as they continue to navigate the opportunities and challenges which come with running a business.”

Don Gray, partner at BHP and Translink, added: “We encourage all our clients to regularly review their business needs.

“With the continued growth and evolving needs of our own business, in 2022 we decided to evaluate market interest in our existing buildings while conducting a comprehensive search for a new home.

“In the intervening three years a lot has changed but our commitment to supporting South Yorkshire to grow and thrive remains the same.

“We firmly believe Albert Works will support our own ambitions, providing space for our growth alongside a contemporary environment which pays homage to our city’s heritage and ensures we continue to attract and retain the best talent.

“We’re looking forward to moving in the next few months as well as welcoming clients and contacts old and new to see the new BHP and Translink office.”

BHP has been supported through the process by Tim Bottrill at colloco.
