Book your place at our Yorkshire Family Business Conference

Come and hear how 150-year-old painting and decorating business, Alfred Bagnall & Sons Ltd (Bagnalls) has survived two world wars, countless recessions and changing markets to remain one of Yorkshire’s thriving family firms.

There will be a limited number of places at a special Family Business Conference produced by TheBusinessDesk.com with partners Endless, LGT, Mills & Reeve and Saffery.

The exclusive event will take place on Tuesday 24 June at the Leeds Marriot Hotel. It will highlight the importance of family businesses to the regional economy and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the sector.

The event will start with a keynote address from Stephen Bagnall and Ellie Jobes, fifth generation family members of Bagnalls.

The Cleckheaton-headquartered company is a fifth-generation family business which is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year and is currently led by managing director Stephen Bagnall, the great, great grandson of the company’s founder, Alfred Bagnall.

Famous painting commissions include the original twin-towers Wembley stadium in 1924, an ongoing maintenance contract at Leeds University which has continued for 25 years, through to His Majesty’s Treasury in 2024.

The Yorkshire Family Business Conference will be fully interactive, giving all delegates the chance to shape the conversation through a series of roundtables, as well as a panel discussion to summarise the morning’s conversation.

The exclusive event for family businesses will cover important issues such as future planning whether that be succession of the next generation to strategic decisions such as raising capital. It will also focus on talent development and the benefits of blending external talent with homegrown family expertise.

Starting at 9am and running through until 1pm, there will be plenty of time for networking. Lunch will be provided for delegates.
