Established sports brand agency acquired in international deal

Specialist sports brand agency, WORKS, has been acquired by Melbourne-based Champion Data, a sports data, broadcast design and technology company.
The deal is designed to bring together expertise in data analytics, broadcast graphics, and creative design to deliver and enhance next-generation solutions for sport globally.
Leeds-based WORKS is intended to complement Champion Data’s expertise in live sports data integration and advanced broadcast solutions.
The acquisition strengthens Champion Data’s commitment to delivering sports presentation services, from on-screen live data visualisation to stadium and event branding.
Chris Hume, executive director of Champion Data, said: “WORKS is a global leader in brand identity and design for the biggest names in sport. We are thrilled to welcome them to the Champion Data team.
“This acquisition is a natural fit – our complementary skills, services, and global reach will enable us to continue to deliver even greater value for our partners.
“The power of sport is enormous. Inspired design, exceptional tech and data delivered at speed underpin the fabric of great storytelling.”
Founded in 1989, WORKS has a client list of sporting organisations and federations delivering branding solutions for names such as FIFA, FIBA, IOC and UEFA.
The agency offers brand identity development, event branding roll-out, broadcast and motion design, and has worked on more than 420 global events, including 57 World Cups and 35 European finals.
