Bradford sandwich firm snaps up Scottish rival

Bradford-based Tiffin Sandwiches has announced its acquisition of PJ’s Foods in a move to boost its footprint in Scotland.
Tiffin is one of the UK’s largest food-to-go manufacturers. The addition of Glasgow PJ’s Foods, a leading supplier of sandwiches to the NHS, educational establishments and sporting events in Scotland and the North of England, complements Tiffin’s existing food-to-go product range.
Mark Salisbury, director at Tiffin Sandwiches, said: “We are delighted with the acquisition of PJ’s Foods. This strategic move adds to our current facilities in England and Wales and strengthens our commitment to delivering quality products throughout the UK.”
Business advisory firm Clive Owen and law firm Andrew Jackson Solicitors LLP advised on the deal.
Michael Cantwell, corporate finance partner at Clive Owen, said: “We are delighted to have helped facilitate this successful acquisition and support one of our longstanding clients during its latest phase of development and growth. There are significant operational synergies to be gained from this strategic purchase, further solidifying Tiffin Sandwiches’ position as one of the UK’s largest and leading food-to-go manufacturers.”
Partner Martin Frost, who led the multi-disciplinary team at Andrew Jackson Solicitors, added: “It was a pleasure to work with Mark and the team at Tiffin. The acquisition of PJ’s Foods provides Tiffin with a new site in Scotland and a great base for further strategic growth.
“It’s been a fantastic transaction to work on and everyone has worked tirelessly and collaboratively to make it happen. We couldn’t be happier for the Tiffin team.”
