Quarterly results at sports betting giant buoyed by strong performance in US

Flutter Entertainment, which owns Leeds-based Sky Betting and Gaming, has reported an eight per cent rise in both annual monthly player numbers and revenues in its results for the first quarter of 2025.
It achieved revenues of $3.7bn/£2.8bn (2024: $3.4bn/£2.6bn) and average monthly players of 14.9 million (2024: 13.7 million).
The business also recorded a net income of $335m/£252.1m, compared to a net loss of $177m/£133.2m in quarter one 2024.
Peter Jackson, CEO, said: “I am pleased with the performance of the business during the first quarter, with the scaling of our US business driving a step change in the earnings profile of the group.
“FanDuel continues to win in the US, retaining leadership positions in both online sports betting and iGaming, while we saw a positive performance within International, where our scale and the competitive advantages of our Flutter Edge have been enhanced by the acquisition of Snai in Italy.
“We are delivering against our strategic priorities, with clear optionality as an ‘and’ business that can create significant value through a combination of organic growth, accretive M&A, and returns to shareholders.
“The global regulated market opportunity is significant, and Flutter remains uniquely positioned to win.”
In its full year 2025 guidance, Flutter Entertainment adds that its group revenue and adjusted EBITDA are now expected to be $17.08bn/£12.9bn and $3.18bn/£2.4bn at the midpoint, representing 22 per cent and 35 per cent year-over-year growth respectively.
