World’s oldest football club comes under new ownership

The world’s oldest football club, Sheffield FC, founded in 1857, has today revealed new ownership, which it says is "designed to restore and reassert its place at the heart of the global game."

The new ownership group, is led by musician and cultural entrepreneur Jon McClure as chairman, alongside David Bianchi, co-founder of Various Artists Management.

McClure is the lead singer of Sheffield rock band, Reverend and the Makers, who for the past 20 years have been headlining festivals ...
