Huddersfield station to close for major autumn upgrade works

Huddersfield station will close for more than two weeks this autumn as work accelerates on the £multi-billion transformation of the Transpennine railway.

The latest phase of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) will see the subway at Huddersfield station extended towards platforms 4, 5 and 6.

Those platforms are also being remodelled to accommodate longer trains, creating additional capacity and more seats for passengers.
