Main section of council’s ‘largest ever’ highways project to open within weeks
The main section of North Yorkshire's new A59 Kex Gill route is to open to traffic in the next few weeks, marking a milestone for the ambitious highways project.
The new 4.2-kilometre route, which will replace a section of road repeatedly affected by landslips, is entering its final stages of construction.
Most of the new road is expected to open in the next few weeks, by early September, providing motorists with a safer, more reliable route between Harrogate and Skipton.
