Town’s market square parade of shops to go under the hammer

A parade of shops in central Shipley is being offered at the latest Acuitus commercial property auction on 17 September.

The long leasehold interest in an unbroken 21-unit retail parade, which occupies a prominent position in Shipley town centre, will be offered with a guide price of £3.8m to £4m at September’s auction.

Extending to approximately 42,653 sq ft, the parade fronts the pedestrianised Market Square and also has return frontages to Well Croft and Kirkgate.

It is occupied by a mix of national and independent tenants, including Iceland, Superdrug, HSBC, Specsavers, Greggs and Holland & Barrett. Four of the shop units are currently vacant.

John Mehtab, of Acuitus, said: “Substantial retail parades of this scale, located in the centre of established towns, are rarely offered at auction.

“With a diverse mix of occupiers, strong income and opportunities to enhance value through leasing activity, we expect this lot to attract interest from a broad range of investors.”
