Growing bakery to open its latest deli at mixed-use city development

Leeds’s 24-acre mixed-use district, Aire Park is to welcome independent bakery, Maughans.

The business, which was founded in 1945, has selected Aire Park as its newest location in Leeds and is taking 2,282 sq ft within the ground floor of Aire Park’s first commercial building 3 South Brook Street.

Maughans’ deli aims to open this autumn and will serve everything from pastries and artisan coffee to cakes as well as sandwiches throughout the day.

The venue will feature a licensed bar and host a programme of events, including networking sessions, guest speaker talks and workshops.

The bakery firm now operates multiple sites, including, a bakery and store in Mirfield.

Leyla Ongun, commercial leasing manager at Vastint UK, said: “It’s fantastic to welcome a growing independent bakery which shares the same commitment to quality and community as we do.

“I know our tenants, visitors and Vastint UK’s own team are looking forward to Maughans opening and being able to tuck in to a new lunchtime treat.

“Once complete, Aire Park will feature over 800,000 sq ft of Grade-A offices, creating space for over 10,000 workers, all of which will sit alongside an eight-acre public park, and having a diverse mix of food and drink options is key to its success.

“We have exciting plans for other ground floor retail across both South Brook Street and our next building Kellstone, which we believe will provide fantastic additions to Leeds’s already stellar food scene.”

Billy Hall, director at Maughans, added: “For over 80 years, Maughans has been proud to serve communities across Yorkshire with freshly baked goods made using the same values we have held since 1945.

“Opening at Aire Park marks an exciting new chapter for us. We can’t wait to welcome residents, workers and visitors into our new space, where they will be able to enjoy everything from freshly baked pastries and artisan coffee to handcrafted sandwiches and cakes.”
