Price volatility hits profits at chilled ready meals producer
A North Yorkshire business which makes chilled ready meals for the retail and convenience sectors has slipped to a loss in its results for the year ended 31 December 2025.
Malton-based Pro Pak Foods' turnover for 2025 of £58.4m was up 18 per cent compared to 2024 (2024: £49.5m) but the firm made a pre-tax loss of £2.4m (2024: £1.1m pre-tax profit).
The business says new volume returned a significantly lower contribution than in other areas of the business, impacting the overall margin achieved during the year.
