Ready meals operation serves up appetising results for Mumtaz Foods
West Yorkshire-based food producer, wholesale and retailer, Mumtaz Foods PLC, reports a successful year of trading in its results for the year ended 28 March 2026.
It records turnover of £9.5m (2025: £7.6m) and pre-tax profits of £1.6m (2025: £1.6m).
In its strategic report for the year, the business states: “The majority of turnover has been derived from the sales of pre-packaged ready meals to large supermarkets consistent with previous years.
“The organic growth was maintained in the year with a healthy increase in sales of 25.4 per cent for the period ended 28 March 2025.
“The company has a strong business reputation which gives it an enhanced position in the pre-packaged meals market. This reputation has come from years of successful trading.
“The company continues to build on its new and existing customer relationships focusing on product quality and excellent service into the pre-packed ready meal market.”
Mumtaz notes the principal risks facing the food industry continue to revolve around the cost of raw materials and other input costs.
It stresses that it has no control over longer-term price fluctuations in the macroeconomic environment, so is continuing to develop a UK-based supply chain.
Mumtaz Foods is part of The Mumtaz Group, a family-owned food and restaurant business founded in 1979. TheBusinessDesk.com has contacted Mumtaz Foods PLC for comment.
